(Another) Unable to send e-mails

ruffledfeathers 02 May, 2009
I can't see how I am any different from 40 other posters here who've had trouble getting CF emailing to work, but I think I've
tried everything posted. I am able to send e-mails from my Joomla site (SMTP, hosted by 1and1), I do get a green background in my CF email setup, and "Email the Results" is set to Yes. But I still am getting nothing sent from CF. With CF debug on, I don't get the "Sent" confirmation, but I don't recognize anything else out of order:

Form passed first SPAM check OK
Form passed the submissions limit (if enabled) OK
Form passed the Image verification (if enabled) OK
Form passed the server side validation (if enabled) OK
$_POST Array: Array ( [name] => David Mxxx [phone] => xxxxxxx [to_addr] => dxx@yxxy.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it [email] => dxx@xxy.com [text_8] => [text_9] => [text_10] => [text_11] => 1 [text_12] => [text_17] => [text_18] => [text_20] => [text_22] => [text_23] => [text_24] => [text_25] => [note] => [chrono_verification] => u8QWy [340b98aca0dc9294c3b68dfb0ff663b9] => 1 )
$_FILES Array: Array ( )
Form passed the plugins step (if enabled) OK
Debug End

I'm sure the problem is something simple, but I sure haven't spotted it yet. Can anybody out there help?

Hi ruffledfeathers,

The debug code isn't showing any email-related messages (assuming that's all that you see) which suggests that somewhere in ChronoForms the email isn't enabled. If you look at the Form listing in the Form Manager (where all your forms are shown) does it Say Enabled:1 in the Emails column for your form?

Nope, shows enabled:0. What am I missing? (Form attached)

Thanks for your help.

Hi ruffledfeathers,

Here it is, you need to enable the Email setup.

It seems a bit odd at first to have two setting to enable emails. But in fact the one on the General Tab stops all emails (and some other stuff) and the one on the Setup allows you to have several setups and turn them on and off. Not so useful doing it by hand but changing in the software depending on the firm results gives lots of possibilities.

Yep. I found it just before I saw your post. It does seem curiously obscure.

Now I'm back fighting the site's ability to send email at all - an overnight reversal of fortunes. Defies logic, as far as I can tell.

OK, so how to make marked option changable?

Hi Andrew06041981,

Please check the tutorial from the Downloads area here - there are a couple of steps that you need to take.

I did as yuo said and still I'm not able to send mail.
To option is changable but in the main view is written: Enabled:0 Disabled:1

All, is incuded in tutorials is set correctly... :/
GreyHead 07 May, 2009
Hi Andrew,

No - if that says Disabled:1 then some setting still isn't correct.

If the site is on-line then you can Email or PM me an Admin login and I'll take a look.
