Date Time Picker Enhancement

I am using the date time picker for a date of birth entry, but you have to scroll by month and it takes forever to get to 1970s or earlier. Is there any way to replace the date time picker with one that allows the user to scroll by year as well or simply select a year via a drop down list embedded in the date time picker calendar?

You can switch back to the default Joomla datapicker which isn't so pretty but is better at date setting. Or you can set a default year roughly where you expect users to be, or you can use a drop down to set the year and over-ride the datepicker year.

This is a question I had also, but can you go into a little more detail about how to do the options mentioned, or is there a tutorial on this?

Or if it's easier, can you just explain how to switch to the default Joomla date picker? I'd also like users to be able to scroll down and choose a month, date and year (and I'd like to be able to control the range of years), so if this is how the Joomla date picker works, that's fine with me!

I did a search on "datepicker" and in the four pages of results I read how to change the max/min range, but I didn't see how to go back to the default Joomla datepicker. I'll do some more research on the Joomla forums, or maybe just use a simple text box instead and ask users to enter their date as mm/dd/yyyy... that's probably the simplest option of all. 😛
