Login/logout problems

tokenring 30 Apr, 2009
Here is another situation that is very similar

If a users comes to my site and uses the login and logout module that comes with Joomla, everything works fine. However, if the users tries to login and logout via ccBoards, there are errors.

if a user attempts to login via ccBoard, they receive a "Invalid Token" message

if a user attempts to logout via ccBoard, they are redirected to another page on the site that says "You are currently logged in to the private area of this site." and there is another logout button. if they use that button now to logout they receive a:

Error 404 - Not found
Your browser can't find the document corresponding to the URL you typed in.

message and the URL looks something like:

http://funkyhousebeats.com/%FE)%DD%7B%1Aa%A6%8Am%8A%89

1) Is there a way that I can remove that login link and logout link from ccBoard?
2) Is there a way that I can make the login and logout functions of ccBoard work with Joomla?

I've looked all over and I can't find how to rectify this error.

Thanks,
Aaron

Hi tokenring,

I'd never even heard of CCBoards until I read your post. So I've no idea how you might fix this, sounds to me like a CCBoard bug - maybe it isn't supporting the Joomla form security tokens correctly?

could be a possibility for sure, however the native login/logout form has the same issue, so I wouldn't be able to make 100% of it. Also, there was another module which I had enabled on the site (don't know) that exhibited the same behaviour. The user would logout of the site... which would only redirect them to another page that would say "you are now about to leave the registered area of the site" logout? if they did, same error as before.

Erg, I'm having a very similar problem. Since this was originally posted in '09 I'm guessing there wasn't a clear solution? I've been putting together a series of chiropractic websites and need to find a fix fairly quickly or find a different option.

Hey Chiropractic!

Is this still an issue for you?
