This one has been keeping me busy for many hours but I just can't seem to work it out 😶
I have a form with the date picker and it works perfect with Firefox. View the same form through IE7 & 8 and several problems emerge.
Main one is that when I click inside the first form text field to enter my name, the main joomla navigation bar disappears and just leaves the background colour. All the buttons have gone awol! Sometimes if I click in the other text fields the menu reappears but only random. Could this be an issue I read about some time ago with Java + JQuery + Mootools? I was having a similar problem with a Google map component that was making the menu disappear and ended up switching components.
Also clicking in the text fields make the form layout shift and fields lose their correct position.
Would love to hear from anyone that has been through something similar and mastered it
Many thanks,
Andrew
I'm using
Joomla 1.5.9
ChronoForms_V3.1_RC4.11
plugin_chronocontact_V3.1_RC4.11
mod_chronocontact_V3.1_RC4.11
SWMenuFree (My Gosu menu)

Hi Andrew,
Sure this is a conflict of some type with CSS or JS at your site, try to clear your website and browser cache and retry, if the problem still exists then this will need some fix to your site!

Hi Andrew,
It certainly sounds like a JavaScript conflict - the menu doesn't use JQuery but the menu code could still conflict :-(

Thanks for the replies. It's certainly a shame as it works perfect in Firefox. (as do most things)
Heres the url if you get the chance to take a look at the form page. I also took out the date picker function too see if that was causing it but no luck.

The rest of the site isn't finished yet but that won't take too long.
I appreciate the help,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Nice looking site.
If you like, put the datepicker back for a while and I'll see if I can spot where the problem is.

Hi Bob ,
I just put the date pickers back in place and this time noticed that in IE the Joomla main main disappears as soon as I mouse over the small calendar icon.
Clicking in the text field that accepts the AntiSpam characters makes all the other fields shift position.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks. I can see what is happening but I'm no closer to knowing exactly what's causing it. Unfortunately all the critical JavaScript files are compressed which makes de-bugging practically impossible :-(

Many thanks for trying Bob. It really is an odd one and surprised no one else has had the same issue as both Chronoforms and SWMenuFree are really popular products.
As much as I personally like the form layout, unfortunately the client really likes the SWMenuFree system as they can easily update it so on this occasion I will switch to a different form and use Chronoforms on my next projects.
All the best,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Try to drop the menu developer a message ? maybe he will have some ideas, if he made such a menu then he is very experienced with JS and CSS and knows his code well and Chronoforms doesn't use excessive JS/CSS anyway so its easier for him to find a solution!
I think they have a good forums, I tried this menu about 2 years ago!
Cheers
