Chronoforms post thread in vBulletin?

thehacker010 06 Apr, 2009
I used ChronoForms on my old website several years ago and I really liked it, so I am hoping that I can use it again for my new website. I want to use ChronoForms as a guild application for my new website. Instead of having the submissions being emailed to the website admins, I want ChronoForms to create a thread in vBulletin that has the form submission. This way I can control who can see the application threads and allow users to vote in the thread on that person applying.

vBulletin and Joomla are in separate databases. The forums are located at <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mywebsite.com/forums">www.mywebsite.com/forums</a><!-- w -->. Joomla is located at <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mywebsite.com/subdomain">www.mywebsite.com/subdomain</a><!-- w -->

Anyone know how to do this?

Hi thehacker010,

I don't remember anyone doing this with vBulletin - I think that someone did solve it for FireBoard about 6 months ago - that might be a good starting place.

if you can get some code from the vbulletin mods forums to insert a new thread then this can be easily used with Chronoforms!

Okay, sounds good. The FireBoard gave me a few ideas. I'll see what I can find on the vB forums about inserting a new thread. If I get this working, I will be happy to write a little post about how to do it for others that may want it.

great, you can add any PHP code to the onsubmit box of Chronoforms!
