Hi Adam,

The easy way to do this is to have the Menu item point to the form. Edit it in the Menu Manager to make it a Type ChronoForms and add the form name in the paramater box on the right.

I am a little confused. I know there is a menu creator in the chrono forms app. when you say "menu Item" do you mean that I have to create a menu in the chrono app or does "menu item" mean the menu already created on the web site.

Hi Bob,

Looks like I have this problem of unable to link my Chronoform to my home page bullet (top menu) in Joomla.

Under Joomla's Menu Item Manager (top menu)--> Edit menu item --> Change type --> I select the type to be Chrono Forms, but once it exit the type window, the type is now Chrono Contact, instead of Chrono Form. And the link reflected is "index.php?option=com_chronocontact" (which is incorrect). There is no way I can change it.

And on the right side for the form name, I put it as "landlord_all".

So now when I access my page, there is this area message: "There is no form with this name or may be the form is unpublished, Please check the form and the url and the form management". Do you know where I can troubleshoot this? lightbulb

Hi Purple Knight,

I'm not sure what's happening to generate the error but "index.php?option=com_chronocontact" is correct.

Thanks, Max & Bob for your replies.

I visited your download site. http://www.chronoengine.com/downloads/chronoforms/chronoforms-j1/85-component.html

I have a few questions to confirm before using the latest version. These are the instructions I copied from the download page.

Warning! Please clear your browser cache before using the new version!

If you have V3.1 RC3, RC4, RC4.11 or RC5 installed then DO NOT uninstall, just use this automatic first time/upgrade pack which will upgrade the versions mentioned earlier to RC5.1, you may need to go to the "Upgrade SQL" page to fix some Database tables fields too, users with earlier versions should uninstall first, pay attention to backup your forms before uninstallation or you will lose them!

Q1: "Clear the browser cache" <-- does it means clearing the web browser cache (like IE/ Safari/ Firefox)?
Q2: I have previous version of Chronoform, so I am not suppose to uninstall it. So does it mean I just download the latest version before installing it the usual way?
Q3: What is "you may need to go to the "Upgrade SQL" page to fix some Database tables fields too, users with earlier versions should uninstall first"?

Sorry for asking so many questions. Been building the website for a long time from scratch. Started from knowing nothing to build the site. Thus, wants to be a little careful... Thanks a lot for your help. 😀

Hi Purple Knight,

Q1 Yes (just makes sure that any old javascript is cleard out of the way).

Q2 Yes (but prudence says that you should make a DB backup first).

Q3 There's a link in the Forms Manager that will add some new fields to the ChronoForms database tables - you just need to click it once (if you are upgrading from an older version you may need to add some extra columns - there's a post in the forums about that).
