Mass email to database listings

tcox8 25 Mar, 2009
Hello!

I am testing out ChronoForms for the first time and am absolutely loving it! I just have a quick question. I was wondering how to send out an email to all of the contacts added to my table?

To explain more: I have a form setup on my site where users can enter their names and emails and this gets added to a database, the purpose of this is to send new updates to everyone who has signed up when something "new" happens.

I was curious how to do this!? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

Hi tcox8,

Not something that's really a ChronoForms feature though you could probably build it. Will the Joomla mailer Tools | Mass Mail not do the job for you? If not, one of the Newsletter extensions probably will.

I don't know if the joomla mass mail will work because users only sign up for this update... Not to sign into the site everytime. Correct?

Hi tocx8,

Oh yes, I missed that - though you could probably adapt the code.

Hmm, i was hoping for an easier way to do this, I'm afraid that may get to be over my head pretty fast!

Hi tcox8,

Someone posted the code for a simple mailer here yesterday, it's good for a moderate mailing, not sure I'd want to use if for 100s or 1000s though.

Bob, thanks so much for you replies and helping me out! I tried searching the forums and was unsuccessful to find this code. Maybe you can provide a link or tell me where you remember seeing it? Thanks!

OK, I decided to go the easy route and use a Newsletter Service component. Now all I have to do is import my .CSV file from chronoform to the newsletter component and volia! Thanks so much for all the help!!!
