How to publish my form?????

joker790 24 Mar, 2009
Hi,

I created a form and it gives me this URL in the Chrono Forms - From Manager: index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=signup the form name is signup.

How do I publish this form on the front end? I can't figure it out!

Thanks,
J

Hi joker790,

Add a menu item for it?

=)

Yes, I added a menu item, but where do I link it to? I tried 2 different ways, neither worked:

1. I created an article linked it to the menu (via article layout). I then tried to put the form in the article using the mumba code {chronocontact}signup{/chronocontact}, but it didn't work.

2. Instead I tried to select chrono contact as the menu item type. The URL for the Link: is index.php?option=com_chronocontact. However, in the chrono form manager, my form is at index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=signup (I can't change the default URL index.php?option=com_chronocontact).

Please help.

Hi joker790,

When you select a menu type of ChronoForms there is a parameter box in the right hand column for you to enter the form name.

Or you can use a menu type of external and paste the whole link in,

Thanks Bob! I used the external link method and it worked like a charm. You rock. I'll be buying a license, great support here in the forums!

I am having trouble with this too --

I have the form, and I have the mambot loaded and enabled and have created a menu item for the form.

What code can I use to insert this form into my article? Or what sequence to just select from the menu?

Thank you

Hi sblackburn,

go to the menu manager and choose the menu which will hold the chronoform link, now click New > Chronoforms > add menu title and at the right side insert the form name > save!

> = next step !

When you select a menu type of ChronoForms there is a parameter box in the right hand column for you to enter the form name.

That parameter is now in the basic otpions on the left I suppose, called Form Name. What reasons would there be for it not to work? I inserted the correct name of the form but it doesn't show in the front end.

Hi Alisatair,

Yes, it's re-located in Joomla! 3 :-(

When you say it doesn't show what happens exactly? What is the URL? Is there anything on the page?

Unfortunately I have no URL as I'm still working locally, but the page only shows "Powered By ChronoForms - ChronoEngine.com" but there's no form, yet the form and its fields (I think) are saved correctly.

That helped a lot, thanks!
I have another website and chronoforms is working great but never had to touch that event section, yet it's set to wizard. How do I get my form working without the need to fill that event section? I'm asking this because I seem to have problems with re-captcha as well, and since it's working fine on the other website with the same API keys and all, I think MY problem is that I'm not understanding that event section, I've set load re-captcha and check as well but no luck, if I can understand how to create a form the same way as I did for the other website (empty event section) it'd be great. Hope I made sense.

Hi Alistair,

If you are using the Easy Wizard then the Show HTML action is automatically used. If you still aren't seeing the form the only explanation I can think of is that there is no Form HTML: i.e. elements in the Preview box; or code in the Form Code box.
