Why so heavy?

My website blog has ~67k with no mootools (no need for it)

After installing chrono engine, it jumped to 378kb!
And it didn't work, because I have removed mootools on my template.

So after enabling it to have the comments functional, my site was 462kb~

I'm sorry if I sound harsh. But come on, 462kb?

Is there a way to make this comment not use ajax? or without mootools?
I have 10 posts displaying in a blog view.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Hi Ma4rco,

When you say ChronoEngine - I assume that you mean ChronoComments.

There is a bug in some versions that loads the scripts and stylesheets multiple times. If this is happening for you there is a fix in the forums here.

I think that most of the size is due to the text area editor. I don't know if you can turn this off, you can certainly trim down the functionality and that may reduce the load size.

Yes ChronoComments, sorry about that🙂

I have the editor off, no bbcode or smileys. All I need is name and textarea.

What you said about the bug is a serious bug. That would explain this enormous size. It could be multiplying the script(s) by 10 since it's 10 posts.

I'm going to look into the forum for this. Do you have any links about it?

Also, my question remains: Is it possible to have this comment system without mootools? or without ajax?

Thanks for your reply!
