Having The Uploaded File Sent By Mail In An Existing Form...

DJLN 16 Mar, 2009
Chronoform was really hard for me to install properly on my production site, but I think I'm beginning to see the end of the tunnel...

But I'm afraid I have one more question...

I've added a "file upload" item to one of my already existing form, and I would like to have the uploaded file sent by mail... I now it's automatic if I don't touch the default mail template, but as I've modified an already existing form, how can I add (in the email template I guess) something in order to have the uploaded file sent to me by mail ?

Thanks in advance for your help, I really hope I'm not getting on your nerves with all my questions... :?

All the best,
Dushan

Hi Dushan,

IIRC it any file uploaded will be attached automatically without any changes to the email template.

Hi Guys
very new to Joomla and chronoforms
I think I can put this in this thread as it is related

I have managed to set up a contact form with with file upload facility. all works fine and I get email with the attachment.

My question is how do I access this file(attacnment) in my joomla admin area. I know it has saved it to the upload folder for chronoforms, thats as far as I have got

any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Hi scorpio4646,

Simple answer - out of the box you can't access it from the admin area. People upload all kinds of iles for different reasons so there is no 'standard' interface yet.

What kind of files are you uploading and what do you want to be able to do with them?

wow that was quick

I allow users to upload jpg files thru chronoform v3.0 joomla 1.5. I would like to put them into a picture gallery
so when I recieve them by email I have to upload them to the joomla folder I assume

Hi scorpio4646,

Have a look at Emmanuel's image Plugin in this post It will only handle one image upload at a time but otherwise should do almost everything for you.

Hi Bob,

I'm sorry, but what do you mean by "IIRC it"

The problem is that the email template has already been change, because I wanted it to look different, and now the attachement isn't linked anymore...

Do you think it could be related to the fact that i've added a second mail (a mail to be sent to the user) ?

Hi Dushan,

IIRC = if I recall correctly; 'it' = typo

After that I've no idea what's happening to the attachments. I don't think that the changes to the template should affect the file attachment.
