Jom Social...the new frontier

basically im excited about jom social...ive uploaded it to a site im designing...and i want to customize as much as possible

i was wondering if chrono will pick up big on a wave of forms and plugins for the new hot community program

i personally had 2 specific tasks i wanted to pull off..

i wanted to know how people have the option to sign up for a newsletter right in the registration...this would make newsletter components nearly obsolete....and ive always wanted to see that.

is there anyway we can get a code released on how to mod the jomsocial registration into either emailing name and email to a third area when chosen....perhaps an email to then list them in a mailing list...

I looked at JomSocial regitration a little while ago. From what I remember the first two steps were standard Joomla registration and the third added entried to the custom JomSocial fields. I don't think it would be difficult to add extra features to this.

There is a thread on this but I don't think an answer was posted.

I am currently planningon using a standard chrono/joomla registration, and am planning to add extra fields to populate both jom_social data, and my own customised data. Any major gotchas to watch for ?

Hi Mizpah,

No tutorials or special paths but you can connect to any table or execute some DB on submit, it depends on your tables!
