Form settings not being preserved...

doxenberg 16 Mar, 2009
Hello,
I am relatively new to Joomla (currently running 1.5), and hence CF (most recent release..RC2).
So in trying to create a form, I add a drop-down list, and set the properties under "Options" to my desired values, replacing the default "Option 1" and so forth.
When I save the form, then preview the form in a web browser I get A: big blank space between first and second form fields, which are both text boxes intended to capture name values. This is not a major concern for now, but I get B: Only one option in the drop down list! If I go back and then edit the form with the Wizard, the other values I set (and pressed "Apply!") previously are gone, and there is only one single value remaining under "Options:"
Is there something I am missing here?
I mean as a workaround I can always use a text box to have the end user enter the value, but it seems the drop down option list should work.
Thanks,
Dov

Hi doxenberg,

The layout issue is a css problem - if you use the Transform Form icon and select another theme I think this will go away.

Losing entries in radio & check box arrays and I think drop-downs is a known bug in the current release. I'm sure that Max will fix it in the next release but for the moment the workaround is to use the form Wizard in another browser as this only seems to happen with IE.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for your prompt reply, I appreciate it.
I will give the workaround you suggested a try, thank you!

Well, I just tried using the Transform Form tool but no joy :-(
I will try again from my Linux box with FireFox and see what happens.

Bob is right, it appears to be a browser issue. I just did Wizard Edit on my form from my Linux box using Ice Weasel and it worked just fine!
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Bob.
