Is Chronoforms loading other plugins?

Pixel 13 Mar, 2009
Very strange issue... my guess is that there is something about the chronoforms plugin that is loading other extensions into a Contact Us form as well even though they are configured to NOT show on the article page. The contact us page is a static page (uncategorized) and is using the plugin tag code {chronocontact}contact{/chronocontact} in the page to load the form I made. Works great...however, it's loading Jom Comments form into it as well and it's also grabbing linkr bookmarking and related extension in as well (which is set to NOT show on this article). If I take the Contact us Form out, everything is perfect, if I put the form back in, it loads jom comments and also linkr again and it appears its loading these two items into the contact us form tags.

Joomla 1.5.9
Components: ChronoForms and it's plugin (the latest version), Jom Comments, MyBlog, linkr, and a few others.

Any ideas?

Hi pixel,

No idea, can you post a link to the page so we can take a look?

Hi, do you have "Enable mambots" set to Yes in the general tab of the form ?

Hi Max,
Yes, the mambot option is set to yes.

***Update: Ah, yes, I turned this to off and the problem is gone now. I assume for some reason that with this turned on it's overriding the other extension settings and loading them into the form. Is this a small bug with that mambot setting in Chronoforms because it should not load anything else if the others are set to display none...other than that, turning it off did solve the problem.

Thanks!

Hi pixel,

I don't see anything odd there - is this now fixed?

Yes it's fixed but still remains the fact that it was loading other extension items like the comments form, and a linkr bookmark bar into the form when they were configured to NOT show on this page but the chronoforms mambot setting set to yes for itself was still loading them (overriding their settings). So I don't know if this is what your plugin does (override other extensions) or if its a small bug.

But for now, its fixed on this development site.

Hi pixel,

It's not my extension or plugin - and we rarely see the ChronoForms Enable PlugIns setting turned on.

I guess that the problem may well be that it's not possible to tell from inside a plugin what page you are on and setting plugins to use plugins is likely to cause some hiccups that have to be managed.

No worries... the fact that turning off the mambots worked is fine.
