Autoresponder

rowby 10 Mar, 2009
Hi

Using the great 3.0 STABLE

I would like a simple autoresponder to be sent to the person who filled out the form.

The form field of their email is (for example): visitorEmail

I need the form results to be sent to the client.

But a simple thank you to the visitor. Not HTML just regular text.

Ideally the thank you would include some information from certain fields, such as visitorName

Thanks. ChronoForms is getting better every update!

Hi Rowby,

You can create a second Email in the Setup Emails tab, use a Dynamic To and put the field name of the Email field in it. Once youve saved it you will find a second email template in the Email Templates tab where you can add your Thank You text.

Hi Greyhead,

I added the Dynamic to email but I am not seeing a 2nd Email template in Email Template. I just see the original automatically generated email template.

I went back and looked at the Email Template tab and still see the Dynamic email (including the email field that it would be pulling from).

Using 3.0 Beta.

Any thoughts? Want screen captures?

Thanks!

Hi Rowby,

You need to create a second complete email setup, not just add a field to the existing one.

I haven't got ChronoForms open at the moment - from memory it's the envelope icon.

Not sure how to do this with just a simple message like

"Thanks for contacting us, blah blah blah"

It seems to want to send the whole Email template. On that in my system I also see TWO email templates one under the other.

Hi wmuckell,

There is one template for each Email Setup. If you want the template to say "Thanks for contacting us, blah blah blah" then delete the existing template contents and put that in its place.
