URGENT! Chronoforms has stuffed my site!

syco 03 Mar, 2009
Hi,

I'm very nervous about what the install of CHRONOFORMS V3.1 RC2.ZIP has done to my site. This is the first time I have ever seen an error like this.
:( I am a complete novice... so it maybe a small issue, but I installed this component today for the very first time.

Everything looked great, worked through the first 3 tutorials.. including install, create form and email... Form looked great.. then I noticed I left off the SUBMIT Button... So I saved the email setup where I was at, at the time...but at this point something has effected the site... it said 'NO INPUT FILE SPECIFIED'

So I uninstalled the CHRONOFORMS component... and it is still effecting all of my site... and I can not even use other extensions like JoomlaPack (to back up my site... scary )
PLEASE HELP.

I have - Joomla 1.5.8-
Problem is it keeps coming up saying - 'NO INPUT FILE SPECIFIED' and if you notice in the attached image... the URL changes to - http://www.test-swishimage.au.com/care157/installation/index.php

I ...then reinstalled. The component and it is still coming up with the same 'error' and 'URL' problem... even from a clean install. I can see the FORMS MANAGER control panel.

What's Happening???

I'm happy to PM an admin with admin details if possible... if this will help fix the issue quickly ... as I'm have a deadline to have the site finished by next week.. and they just asked me to put a FREE consultation form... hence me trying your component out... if it worked I would be happy to pay for the license... but this has really scared me off ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

Help a very nervous,

Syco

Hi syco,

Please Google this error, it is reasonably common - can be caused by the wrong PHP version; sef URLs; and possibly from not deleting the installation folder. But pretty unlikely to be ChronoForms.

Hi syco,

I think the "no input..." message is because it cant find your installation folder or file, and I think it tries to access the installer because it can't find a configuration file or a good one, can you FTP to your site root and look for configuration.php ? if this file is not there then you need to create one, some user had the same problem before and after checking up his site we realized that he left his files permissions 777 which means that anybody can delete it!

Hi Guys,

Thx for the replies. I have been working on this site for 3 weeks now.. and this problem only started after I had installed the component..
I'm a total novice and happy for one of you to check the backend if you think it will work it out quickly. Do you want me to PM the admin details?

Thx.. I checked the configuration.php file and it is there... but as i said I was working all day today and this started after I installed Chrono.

Which Installation folder are you talking about.. as the only installation folder I have been aware of is the one you throw away after a Joomla install... which is what I did 3 weeks ago?? I have not installed a Joomla install recently.. so I'm at a loss why it looks for the installation folder at all??? Never happended to me on the past 8 sites I've built. The only install I have done today.. is the Chrono component.

BTW. What happens is when I click on NEW ... to create a new form in Chrono Manager.. this URL automatically comes up.. hence the 'No input file specified' error??

Hi syco,

The link that your arrow points to is in the installation folder http://www.test-swishimage.au.com/care157/installation/index.php

If the folder does exist then it shouldn't; if you are being re-directed to a non-existent folder then it's probably a SEF problem.

Hi Syco,

Disable SEF, Disable GZIP compression, both in the Joomla global config, and retry ?

Let me know! here or through the contact us page!

Hi guys,

Thx for the quick response.. it's much appreciated.

Disable SEF, Disable GZIP compression, both in the Joomla global config, and retry ?

They are already disabled.๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

The link that your arrow points to is in the installation folder http://www.test-swishimage.au.com/care157/installation/index.php
If the folder does exist then it shouldn't;

It does not exist.. as I deleted the 'installation folder", as so as I did my original install of the RocketTheme Versatility 4 Joomla Template... as I said I have been building this site fo 3 week, and Joomlapack has also worked until now.. so it looks like ill have to go back to last weeks backup and reinstall... i'll lose 3 days work๐Ÿ˜Ÿ but unless you guys would like the ftp and admin details.. I can't see why this is happening ๐Ÿ˜ข

As I said, I would be happy to Private Message all the details to an Admin, because your component looks great and I would like to know what is causing this issue, so I can continue to use your component in the future with confidence.

Thx again,

Syco

Hi syco,

If the installation folder is gone but you have links pointing to it then - like I said - it looks to me like an SEF problem.

Assuming that the files are all still there you can uninstall ChronoForms without accessing the site by deleting the components/com_chronocontact and administrator/components/com_chronocontact folders and deleting the record in the jos_components table.

Once again guys, Thx so much for the quick response.
I have sent MAX all the admin details.

Also thx for your input Bob.

uninstall ChronoForms without accessing the site by deleting the components/com_chronocontact and administrator/components/com_chronocontact folders and deleting the record in the jos_components table.

I will wait and see what Max finds before I try uninstalling.

Max, in regards to what is everything that is affected. The only 2 things I have been trying to do.. is create a form, then when the problem hit.. I tried to back up the site with JoomlaPack.. so I havent really tested everything.

With the JoomlaPack problem for example.. I did a back straight away.. which has created a file to download... but I get the 'NO INPUT FILE SPECIFIED' error as soon as I try to download the site.zip file. So you can test that now with the admin details... go to Components/Joomlpack/Manage Backup File, then choose download on the site zip file that is there... and the same NO INPUT FILE SPECIFIED comes up.

Hope this helps,

Syco

Wow this is scary...
I have done nothing to the http://www.test-swishimage.au.com/care157

The only thing I did today was (due to my deadline) was upload last weeks JoomlaPack site backup and i started to redo input all the changes I had made since the last backup- see http://www.test-swishimage.au.com/care158

Notice the new site is now /care158 where the problem site was /care157.

Other than that I have done nothing... do you think loading up the last backup.. has some how fixed it? as all my sites that are being built are in the - http://www.test-swishimage.au.com location. But they are all different databases!@# so I'm only guesing this may have fixed it in some weird way

One other weird thing that I noticed today that was weird..... after I had reinstalled the backup site... all my images and links throughout the site still pointed to the old /care157 images and url's link. But all the RokslideShows on the the same reinstalled were pointing to the new /care158 images.. So I'm now really confused on what has actually taken place for all this to occur.

I suppose I should just back-up the site again right now... then keep on using the Chronoforms and see if i get the same problem again.

Just thought I'd mention about the image link problem.. in case it helped you in some way when working out what happened.

Wish I knew what caused this.. as it still makes me nervous :?

Cheers,

Syco

Hi syco,

The more you say about this the more it sounds like a url redirection issue of some kind. I think it very very unlikely that it has anything to do with ChronoForms excpet that it happened at the same time as you were using the extension.

Hi Syco,

Or it may be your host admin made some change while you are recreating the backup, but nobody can be sure of something!๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Guys,

Yes that could off been the problem... as it seems to be OK for a basic form which I have set up (- less me not having the knowledge yet to set it up all the things I would like to do correctly)
