Stylesheets gone in 3.1 beta?

Philip Roy 20 Feb, 2009
On a test site, I backed up my forms, uninstalled 3.0 and then installed 3.1 RC2...but none of the forms are styling nicely. The style sheets that used to load don't seem to be anywhere, so I'm not what I'm meant to do to get the forms looking the same?

I also don't quite what the warning in the download section means when it says "if you have any Chronoforms plugins configured for any form then pay attention that the plugin config will not be copied during the backup/restore process!" ??

Cheers,

Phil

Hi Phil,

I hadn't noticed the missing style sheets, I've attached a package with the default sheets. They were in com_chronocontact/css so you could drop them back in there. You may still need to add code into your form html to load them. Ask if you do and I'll work it out.

ChronoForms 3.1 comes with a couple of templates but I haven't yet worked out how you apply them.

The plugins note refers to ChronoForms (not Joomla) Plugins like the Joomla Registration, Profile and CB Registration plugins.

Thanks Bob...as this is all on a test site I can grab the css files from the live one.

Still not sure what the expression means....so one of my forms is for registration...so that means all the configuration is lost even though I made a backup?

Hi Phil,

I think that the info on the PlugIn configuration page isn't saved in a backup so has to be recreated. I guess that a screen shot would do the trick - though it may now be too late :-(

OK...I'll just recreate it off the live site.

Thanks,

Hi Phil,

Do you have the V3.1 RC2 ? you should have no problem with the styles!

As Bob said, the plugin config has to be done for any form uses it because its not included in the backup!

I made backups of forms, installed RC1, installed the backups...noted the CSS issue. Uninstalled RC1 after discovering RC2, installed that and used my initial backups of forms...so I'm not sure if I should have the CSS issue or not? Will copy the tables and files from the live site to the test one and try again over the weekend.

No problems, let me know when you do!

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong sorry. This (the first form) is a simple contact form embedded in a web page using the mambot. I'm using 3.1 RC2 and the Mambot_V0.9_V3.1RC2. I recreated my entire site, made backups of each of my forms, uninstalled the component and mambot...uploaded the new versions, restored the forms and the CSS file is not being linked to at all.

Nothing on the live and test sites seem different in terms of form settings.

What is it I'm not doing?

Cheers,

Phil

Hi Phil,

Please take a look at this post which fixes a little bug.

You may also be able to solve this by using the Transform Form icon in the Forms Manager toolbar to assign a defualt template to your forms.

Thanks....if a fix involves hacking files, I'll leave it until another RC or final version comes out. Happy with how Chronoforms is running on my live site....although I hope that 3.1 RC2 and above will work with Gzip compression on? I had to leave it off for some reason with the current version and the component is the only thing stopping me activating it for my site.

Hi Phil,

No problem. Max didn't get GZip fixed for this release but I know it's still on his to-do list.

Hi guys,

I have a brain like a sieve.....I can't recall what the gzip issue was all about, but I've left gzip off on my sites for some time now. I'm using the very latest version of chronocontact (3.1 RC5.3)...OK to switch gzip on now?

Cheers,

Phil

Hi Phil,

I think (not 100% certain either) that this was fixed a few releases ago - I haven't seen it in the forums for a few months now.
