Blank area in top of Form (Only in IE)

Hello,

Thank you for any help that can be provided. This is a new install and the only Code changes is meantioned below. I need to get this solved ASAP as we will be taking the site live and the issue was discovered after that decision was made. The issue can be seen here.

http://d21324142.a59.artisticrealms.net/gamer/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=Diecon_registration&Itemid=72 using IE 7 or 8. It has not been tested against IE6.

Basically the first text box area aligns with the bottom of the left hand column creating a large gap between there and the Heading.

Originally this issue happened in IE, FireFox, And Chrome. I followed the advice in this thread (http://www.chronoengine.com/forums/index.php?option=com_chronoforums&cont=posts&p=13896#p13842) and made this change (20px!important;) this corrected the issue in Firefox and Chrome. However the issue continues on in IE.

I can provide any Code as required.

Any help would be very appreciated. I’m new to the software, and after a few hiccups in learning it seems to be very versatile and I would like to continue using it.

Hi Frank,

The immediate problem is with the fix you've used. Looking at the form in FireFox you can see that the 'Joomla Professional Work' tag sits in the middle of the form rather than at the end. This is because - in reality - some of the form elements are more than 20px high and so the browser has to work out a compromise. And FireFox and IE choose different routes.

Apart from individually styling the height of the bigger items I'm not sure what the fix is for this.

Well,

I'll be Paying the 25$ on Friday if I can get the form to work, so I'm not too worried about the locations of the 'Joomla Professional Work' tag. I'm willing to make whatever Changes are neccessary however, and am not experianced enough to figure it out on my own. I've played around with some of the values in the CSS, but nothing I changed seemed to make much of a difference, so I changed everything back.

Hi Frank,

The 'Joomla Professional Work' tag is just an indicator of what your problem is. There's clearly some issue with the interaction of the two sets of css from ChronoForms and the template. You can always turn ChronoForms css off in the General Tab.

I just help out with support here - if I find time I'll take a look at your problem for you. Meanwhile FireBug is probably your best bet.
