Option to use wizard when editing form after saving

dsmflash 29 Jan, 2009
It would be great to be able to reuse the form wizard when editing a form after saving.
The form code feature is ok, and i'm a hand coder, but the code is too jumbled together.
i have tried adding spaces to separate the html, but it does not save that way like Joomla
html does in WYSIWYG editor.

Hi dsmflash,

Max is working on this for the next release of ChronoForms - but it's not a trivial problem :-(

I tend to copy the code out of the Form HTML box and run it through HTML Tidy to add some structured formatting before trying to work on it. FireBug Inspect is also good for seeing the structure of the resulting form.

I also would like to reuse the form wizard for editing forms. Although there is a workaround (hacking the form source) it would be much more convenient to use the drag and drop of items.

Also, it would be helpful to reorder items in the wizard. Placing items at the end is really difficult (I use the work around to add a dummy item at the bottom and as a last step, removing it.)

Thanks for providing this great tool.

Hi gacmb5,

ChronoForms 3.1 which Max released yesterday allows re-editing of the form HTML with the wizard. I haven't had a chance to try it yet so can't say how it works or what you can or can't do.

Hello,
i updated my chronoforms version to the latest and it's fantastic to see how I can reuse the wizard to redit my forms.
Unfortunatly after doing it, my custom code added manually in the "Form code" tab (Form HTML) is deleted.
Is it a bug? or just a feature?

Thanks

sorry for my english

Hi Gainder,

my custom code added manually in the "Form code" tab (Form HTML) is deleted.

of course when you "reuse" the wizard a new code is created for your form and any changes will be overwritten!

Cheers
