How to customize my community builder registration form

akanesakura 27 Jan, 2009
Hi,

I'm a complete newbie I just have a little knowledge in coding, just basic html and css. Is there a step by step tutorial here how to customize the registration form of community builder? if there's none can you help me? I'm currently using Joomla 1.0, Community Builder 1.1 and ChronoForms V2.3.9.

I need to add some custom fields like

Citizenship, Civil status, Occupation, and other radio buttons and dropdown.

can that be possible?

Thanks!

Hi akanesakura,

do you need to add few extra fields ONLY ? if so then use the Community builder "fields manager" in the admin area!

if you want to use Chronoforms anyway then there is a tutorial about this under Downloads/Chronoforms tutorials/

The tutorial in the downloads were meant for Joomla 1.5, I don't have a Form Wizard in my chronoForm. Sorry I'm very new to coding and website thing. My goal is to rearrange and customize the form of Community Builder has.

This will be my Registration Form:

Username: [ _______________ ] *
Email Address: [ ______________ ] *
Password: [ _____________ ] *
Name: Family [ _______________ ] * Give [ _________________ ] * Middle [ __________________ ] *
Birthdate: [ A Calendar Here ] *
Civil status: [ ] Single [ ] Widowed [ ] Married [ ] Seperated *
Gender: [ ] Male [ ] Female *
Citizenship: [ ] American Other [ ] [ __________________ ] ( textfield to specify citizenship ) *
Home address: [ ___________________ ] *
Zipcode: [_______] (textfield numeric only) *
T.I.N.: [________] (textfield numeric only) (optional)

This form is not totally complete . How can I achieve this? If there's someone here that can do this for free/paid please send me an email at akanesakura32[at]yahoo.com.

Thanks!

Hi akanesakura,

Ok, we have 3 options now :

#1- the tutorial is very close to the J1.0 version, at least for the plugin config step!
#2- you can add extra fields using CB itself but the form will not look exactly like what you need!
#3- if you are in rush and is willing to pay then you can post at the "paid services forum" here, I'm really out of time to do anything now!😟
