Is it safe?

johnny 24 Jan, 2009
I got the exact same problems as few people here, i can't post any comments as Admin unless i mark Super Administrator in POSTING PERMISSIONS so i wonder if its safe to keep it that way, to simply mark everyone there*?

Few more things, when u mark only Public Frontend and put guests are allowed to vote to NO, noone can vote then. I suggest you delete Guests can vote option in next release and put only Public frontend or Registered. Don't complicate something that is so simple.

So what should i do?

btw. i posted Clear Croatian Translation in Translations.

Help pls.

that's fine yes, what's the problem with this ?

actually the "Public frontend" choice has a group id value which we can't use for guests and so choosing it has no effect at all and that is the only reason why there is a distinct option for guests and so we can't remove it, do you have other ideas ?

Thanks and best regards,

just replace Vote by Comment here, looks like i was too tired or not high enough πŸ˜€

Is it possible then to make just 2 options, Registered and Guests? If Public Frontend has no effect, Guest option is just fine and much more understandable for users. Would be a great idea to include under Registered users both Admin, Super admin, all moderators, authors and editors. I bet 99% people who used it for first time marked only Public frontend and Registered users, saved settings and went to site, logged in with administrator and Voila, he can't comment at all with Admin. So for maturity of project i really think this is MUST. To simplify.

I know by every comp.-mod. i use, first thing and most important is Simplicity and Funcionality. As far as i can see this thing has huge potential, and actually its pretty simple, but why not even more simple?

Other thing i wanted to suggest is path to comments from first part of article. I translated it to Croatian so it look like 0 Komentara... >> or by default Read (number) comments... >>. I wonder if there is possibilitie to replace this bye {image_here} <number here> Comments. If you are up to i will offer my services to design you a read more image in every language here supported and write a manual how to manipulate, change them or replace them.

Also, it would be cool if chrono comments could replace Read more link automatically, or in settings. So in .readon says to use chronocomments image. Now when you have read more link in article, 2 rows up you have comments information. Whatever you click you go to same page πŸ˜€

I hope this helps. Waiting for response.

Hi Johnny,

Regarding #1, I already assumed this and answered!πŸ™‚

#2- Ok, I will think about this!

to add the image you will need to hack one line in plugins/content/ChronoComments.php

you can disable the readmore link in Joomla but ChronoComments can NOT disable it, the plugin simply has no control over this!

Hi Johnny,

I have no ideas now, may be because its crazy month for me here, I think I will have better ideas when I have more free time to rest, If they did it in akocomment then we can do it too, can you post a request at the "suggestions forum" and I will look at all posts when I'm in a better condition?πŸ™‚
