2 registration forms?

recedo 23 Jan, 2009
Hi,

Just a quick one - I haven't experimented with this myself yet as I don't want to screw anything up...

I would like to have 2 registration forms on my site;

1. The standard Joomla registration for 'regular' users

and

2. A new registration form created with CF to collect some extra data from bands (as in music) so they can be signed up as a user and enter the extra info without having to navigate to a different form after registration.

Now, personally I can't see a problem with this but has anyone had any experience of doing this? or are there any potential issues?

I have heard of people using CB without the joomla registration disabled/blocked and have issues because the extra fields aren't being completed but obviously this is a feature I actually want!

Also... If I could have 2 forms, could I have 3/4? I don't have a use for any more than 2 at the minute but still working on my idea and there may be potential!

Thanks in advance,
Simon

Hi recedo,

I don't see why this wouldn't work. You should create a separate database table for the extra fields to save any problems with the Joomla reg.

Yes... I would be creating a different table for extra data.

Thanks for replying - I'll do a demo install and see what I can do!

I'll update this post with my findings!
