J! 1.5.9... comments not posting.

lateupdate 14 Jan, 2009
Hi,

I was dumb to post the forum topic about missing the parameters button -- I don't think I was signed in as super admin!

Anyway, that's solved. Another problem has cropped up though. My users, including myself, can't seem to post comments! It gets as far as allowing us to type the comment and all that, then, once we hit the Submit button, the little loading wheel appears, some of the form shifts down, but within less than a second the wheel disappears, the form shifts back up and nothing! No comment registered in the back-end either, so it's not being added to the database.

I did adjust the community builder connection deal to work with another community system, Joomunity, but the only code I touched was within the if statement regarding comprofiler and in fact I've disabled it as well -- and still experiencing this problem, which I wasn't experiencing before.

I'm using J1.5.9 and I have joomunity installed, as well as ja_teline which uses scripts, but neither of which has conflicted with this component until I patched to 1.5.9. Thanks.

I have not yet -- I uninstalled the default templates but I will add another right now.

Here's what my Firefox error console spits back:

Error: newDiv.getFirst() is null
Source File: ...components/com_chronocomments/scripts.js
Line: 323

Does this help?

Figured it out -- at some point the plugins file Chronocomments.php and the component file chronocomments.php got mixed up. Don't know how it didn't alert me to this mix up! My fault.

Another issue though that predates this one, that I'll post after doing a search to check to see if it's addressed. Sorry for the inconvenience... perhaps in future version you might want to call it plg_ChronoComments.php or something?
