Fine in Firefox, template destroyed in Internet Explorer....

ace100uk 10 Dec, 2008
Dear all-
Has anyone else experienced this problem? After installing ChronoComments my site works just fine in Firefox, but in Internet Explorer the template is completely destroyed. No error message is displayed, just crazy positioning and CSS.

Frustrating because CC looks to be the best comment system out there. Any ideas?

Hi ace100uk,

One or two people have reported something similar. it depends very much on the tempate you are using and the template settings. You'll need to edit the ChronoComments template and/or css files to fix the problem.

Thanks for offering to look at it. I'm using Joomlart's Teline II template, and my test page is here - http://dailyfortnight.biz/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=35:is-it-possible-to-change-the-types-of-menu-entries&catid=31:general&Itemid=46

Open the page in firefox to see how it should look. I suspect the solution is buried deep in the template, but your help is much appreciated!

I also wonder if you guys have any plans to produce a Tutorial on using the Submit Content application - the app is great but I'd need to customise it some more before it suits my needs (add image upload, image caption, section selector, created date field, etc). A step by step tutorial along the lines of the one for Joomla registration would make this app really useful to me! 🙂

Sorry - It seems that every page EXCEPT the one with comments on gets messed up. I've only included comments on the page linked above, so you can see an example on the homepage <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailyfortnight.biz">www.dailyfortnight.biz</a><!-- w -->.

Hi ace100uk,

I see more clearly there!! You have about 5000 lines of code - most of which are the ChronoComments code repeating over and over. I thought that Max had posted a fix for this . . .

Brilliant! That's fixed it nicely. Thanks both for the help!
