Upgrade 2.3.8 to 2.3.9

cb1 08 Dec, 2008
Getting ready to upgrade Chronoforms on a Joomla 1.0.15 site.

I backed up my forms to my desktop using the "Backup Form" Feature in the Form Manager.

I understand that I have to uninstall 2.3.8 before installing 2.3.9.

My question is:

What is the difference between the two downloadable Chronoform Component files on the ChronoEngine web site? One is called ChronoForms V2.3.9 J1.0.zip and the other is called chronoforms_2.3.9_upgrade.zip - Can I use either once I uninstall the previous version? Or can I install the file called upgrade over the previous version?

Thanks!

Hi cb1,

I think the upgrade archive can be extracted and files overwritten with the new ones, give it a try and if it didn't work then uninstall and make a fresh one, if it worked then you didn't lose your forms!

Do the form back-ups contain all the tab information we had to enter into the various chronoform tabs? Or does it just contain the form code itself?
