Reply To email address in General tab...

Hey,

What is the function, or definition, of the "Reply To" field in the General tab of Chrono Forms?

Are all these terms defined somewhere? The info button doesnt really shed any light on them.

Thanks!

Hi cb1, leave it empty, it will not make any problems.

Hi cb1,

Just to add some explanation - the email standard allows for both a 'From' address and a different 'ReplyTo' address.

When you receive an email the 'From' address is the one that appears in the From field; and the 'ReplyTo' is used when you click ReplyTo but is otherwise out of sight.

From memory the mailer requires a 'ReplyTo' entry but if you leave it blank in ChronoForms then either the default 'Mail from' setting will be used from your Site Global Configuration, or the 'From' address in your email will be used.

Thanks Grey,

Max - thanks to you too - BUT - an explanation was more what I was looking for. I laughed because when I read your reply - I really didn't know how to reply to it!

The form went live yesterday (the equivalent of a 4 page employment application) and within 3 hours they had 15 submissions. We were astounded.

There are still bugs in the armor regarding this form project I have been working on - a couple bugs in the email return template that gets processed once this form is submitted - but I will keep working those out (html vs. css vs. Outlook)... or die trying.

We'll see - fingers crossed.

Hi cb1, I just wanted to reach to the last point quickly because I always have loads of messages to repliy, I found its no problem to leave them empty, I actually always leave them empty and in V3.0 I have completely omitted them!

Cheers,

Max
