Can't get the File Upload function to work

mcdmedia 04 Oct, 2008
I have the latest version of Joomla and have purchased the licenses for chronoforms. I have read all of the FAQ's and can't figure out for the life of me how to get a file to upload. I have created the forms, enabled uploading, set the file types, max and min sizes. I put the code the FAQ says in the General tabs. The forms will submit just fine to my email address but there is no file attachment. All it does is show the path of the file that the user submitted. Also there are no files in the uploads directory in the chronocontact folder.

I have spend 2 days now trying to figure this out and its driving me insane. If anyone can help me out I would be very grateful. I will even pay you for a tutorial to show me how do do this. My email is mcdmedia AT gmail dot com.

Thank you so much

Hi mcdmedia,

tell me which Chronoforms version do you have ? are you using the mambot (plugin) ? if yes which version ? show me a screenshot of the uploads tab and the general tab!

Hello Max,

Thank you for the help on this. I am not using a mambot plugin. The version of Chronoforms is the latest one. I just downloaded it the other day. I am fairly new to Joomla and to be honest don't even know what that is. 😶

I have uploaded the screen shots for you to look at.

Im sure what I am doing is wrong and probably simple

I see everything is correct, the general and uploads tab, you have a field named file_1 ? you can also make a form backup after removing your personal data and put it here and I will check it!

Hi Max,

Maybe this is where I am wrong. What do you mean by this exactly? Do I need to have a field somehwere named file_1? The form wizzard just put that in there as a default

Hi, if the wizard did this then that's fine, please backup your form without sensitive data and put it here or post to me in my PM and I will check this form!

Hi all,

My problem is the same as mcdmedia's, but instead of Joomla! 1.5 I use Joomla! 1.0.15..

The attachments do not appear in the Chronoforms upload directory. The e-mail I get just contains the local address of the uploaded file.

The field name in the File Uploads tab is correct. What to do about this?

Greetings,

Rob

Hi robhuijben,

Please check the FAQ "File uploads aren't working" for some suggestions for Joomal 1.0.x
