But I am not having any luck. When I test, it throws me back to the Joomla Dashboard with no bug report.
Exactly where do I put the "VIRTUAL_DATA" in load or submit? How to make the email to that Virtual data? I have tried so many iterations I'm not just repeating myself.

The alternative data field pulls the email address correctly, but never sends the email to that email address, it just fills it in on the email report to the other email addresses.
Suggestions please. The debug report does not show any information to go on.

Apologies for the late reply.
The Virtual Field is just a field, you place it with other fields in the Load event of the page
Then you use it's value as the Email recipient:
{data:virtual_field_name} Please try that and let me know
