ChronoForms 7 and Joomla 6

wbuk 12 Sep, 2025

Will ChronoForms v7 work with Joomla 6 when it is released in a couple of weeks? We have spent almost a year redoing all our ChronoForm v6 material into V7 and have only just finished.

Cheers.

Hi wbuk

Maybe, but v8 will be a priority, and v8 has v7 forms importer, so if you can not wait for v7 updates then you can try to migrate some forms.

Thank you so much, Max.  The issue is that we use a lot of the connectivity in CF7, and currently, CF8 only supports forms.  It has taken us almost 15 months of work to upgrade from CF6 to CF7, so if it's possible for you to check CF7 on Joomla 6, you would be a lifesaver.  It would mean we could have time to upgrade at our own pace.  We have 36 files in total.  3 of which are forms (so we can move them) and 4 are not used (so that is ok), but this leaves 29 connectivity tables created.  So if you could help, I would be very grateful.

Thank you so much.

Hi wbuk

Did you try importing a Connectivity form in v7 to v8 ? because the v8 importer should import them well.

Hi wbuk

Just to confirm, ChronoForms v8 already works on Joomla 6, so let me know if the importer did well importing the Connectivity lists from v7

Hello

CF7 is compatible with J6 + Plugin Compatibility Joomla 6 Enabled

Beware, before move from J5 to J6, disable CF7 extensions. After, verify on J6 Plugin Compatibility Joomla 6 Enabled, then enable CF7.

Hi

… but there is a problem with TinyMCE 8 (J5 use TinyMCE 6).

Using a textarea element on CF7+J6, TinyMCE Editor is disabled:

The editor is disabled because a TinyMCE license key has not been provided
