I am evaluating Chronoforms with the view to paying for a license. However I have some queries:-

1. I installed the demo version and created a form including Anti-Spam measures. The imageverification image did not display in my form, is this because this is a demo/unlicensed version?

2. I have SEF Advance v5.3 installed and attempted to enable a sef url for my demo form using alias method. It did not work. Is there a sef_ext.php file available for Chronoforms so I can use the URL configuration for components with SEF extension method?

If not what are my SEF options?

Hi Adrian,

1) The problem is not to do with having a demo version. The demo version is complete identical to the licensed version.

ImageVerification requires the GD extension; and a few users have had problems with paths in the current imageverification. You'll find a couple of fixes in the forums here and I'm sure Max will include these in the next release.

2) I have no idea about SEF and ChronoForms, I haven't seen it mentioned here recently. The simplest workaround is probably to use the ChronoForms mambot and embed your forms in content pages.

I will just add few comments over Bob's ones :

#1- you can find this fix in this post :

#2- No SEF advance ext file, if you have aliasing in SEF advance then you can put the chronoform URL and make your own custom SEF URL ? I used ARTIO SEF with ChronoForms and it automaticlly converted the URL to be the same menu item name, so it was ending with contact.php

Hi Max,

Followed the fix as detailed in the post you mentioned however did not work for me.

1. I replaced $font = "default.ttf";
with
$font = dirname(__FILE__)."/default.ttf";


2. I commented out line 17 and then went to URL to see any error message

Error message was as follows:

Call to undefined function: imagettfbbox() in/mydirectorypath/administrator/components/com_chronocontact/chrono_verification.php on line 21

Any ideas?

Hi Adrian,

imagettfbbox() was introduced in PHP 3.0.1 so it's unlikely that it doesn't exist in your PHP but it does require both the GD and FreeType extensions to PHP to work. maybe one of those isn't installed on your setup?

I tried your 'beta' diagnostic hack but it generated only errors:---

Warning: main(mydirectorypath/components/com_chronocontact/chronocontact.html.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in mydirectorypath/components/com_chronocontact/chronocontact.php on line 19

I know that GD image and Freetype work fine on my server as I have other components using them.

Thanks for your efforts however I think I will give up on this one until such time as bugs are ironed out.

Something odd is happening, nothing in the diagnostic hack has any link to either chronocontact.php or chronocontact.html.php

Yes, Adding hacks for users may not be as easy as it seems, somethings may go wrong which may add more troubles, fixes will be available on the new release by the end of this week if possible.
