SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.

How to fix SMTP authentication errors in ChronoForms.

Overview

The problem is that the Joomla mailer settings are incorrect or the server configuration is preventing SMTP authentication.
First, verify and correct the mailer settings in your Joomla global configuration. If using SMTP, ensure the credentials are accurate; if using PHPMailer, contact your hosting provider to check the server setup.

Hi all,

when I try to send a test mail, I always get this error message. My E-Mail Adress is an office 365 account.

Do anybody had the same issue?

Thanks!

After the sending of the message didn't work, I tried to send a test message, but it also didn't work.

Yes, I checked and followed the instructions on this posting. But the problem could not be solved.

if your Joomla mailer is not working then this should be fixed, check the mailer settings in your Joomla global config, if its SMTP then check your SMTP settings, but if its PHPMailer then ask your hosting admin to check it for you because this one depends on the server config

after fixing this Chronoforms should send emails fine
