How To Make Submitted Form Go To Unusual Email Address

Hi there, thanks so much for an amazing component!

I have a problem currently where I am using some CRM software that has an email of lead+examplename@crmondemand.biz where examplename is obviously my account name. Anyway I am using Joomla 1.015 and Chronoforms 2.3.9 but when I place this name in "Email Address" under "General" the form never gets delivered. I am wondering if I am supposed to use "special fields" but I really am unsure as to exactly how to do it. I assume the "+" is causing the problem however the CRM software requires it.

I know it's possible as I have heard of another person doing it somehow. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks heaps.

Hi, thank you, so you add lead+examplename@crmondemand.biz in the Email addresses field and it doesn't send ? did you try another normal email address like youremail@yahoo.com ?

Thanks so much for your quick response!

Yes I have tried many other emails types such as myname@hotmail.com myname@yahoo.com etc., and they all work.

However when I place lead+examplename@crmondemand.biz in the "Cc Email Address" the form submission results not only don't get to the CRM software but the working email addresses (such as hotmail and yahoo) that I have placed in the "Email Address" don't get delivered either. I have also tried just using lead+examplename@crmondemand.biz in the "Email Address" tab with no other email address but it still doesn't work.

I also asked the CRM software help team and they were kind enough to email me this response
"What is more likely is that you are either not specifying a "from" address that is an user in Heap (and therefor doesn't have permission). Or you are failing SPF when sending (your real e-mail server is different from the server sending this lead generation e-mail).

If it is the later, take a look at the SPF standard. It can give you instructions on how to add servers that have permission to send. http://www.openspf.org/ "

With respect to their suggestion on the "from" address I have already included the email address used in HEAP (the CRM software). I am a little concerned that maybe the "From email" or "From name"I have used are not quite right even though I am unsure as to why they wouldn't work.

As far as theSPF stuff that's something I am very unfamiliar with.

Thanks again for your help!

Hi, try to put in the from name : admin
in the from email : admin@admin.com

turn Debug on, does it say Email sent ? if so then the email went out from joomla and if its not received then something is stopping it on the way, maybe check your mail server logs or ask your web host admins about their ideas.

Thanks again for that great advice!

Interestingly we ended up using an intermediate email address in Chronoforms and forwarding then to the lead+examplename@crmondemand.biz and that worked well however when the submitted form has an attachment (doc or pdf) it formats perfectly with no HTML in the HEAP CRM however if the same form is submitted with no attachment then the result has HTML formatting which of course is unreadable.

Have you any idea why this is so and would there be an easy way to remove it? Or is it nothing to do with Chronoforms?

Much appreciated again!!!

Hi, I'm sure that the email formatting is untouched if an attachment is there, whats exactly gets changed ?

Hi again sorry about the late response.

I have taken all suggestions into consideration but have still not got anywhere with this problem of html formatting being added in the CRM software when no attachment.

However we have made an automatically attached "dummy doc" with each form submission so now all form results format correctly in the CRM software. As I have spent quite a bit of time on this AND used your time precious as well, I am happy with this work around!

Thanks again for all your time and help..it's really really appreciated!!!
