Upgrading from v5 on a Joomla 3 site preparing to migrate to J4, any special steps or can I jump right to v8?

I've been looking around but can't find a specific answer to this. We have an older v5 Chronoforms site on Joomla 3 that we are trying to get ready to migrate to Joomla 4. Can I just install v7 or v8 or is there a process I have to follow to keep all the old forms working?

install v8 on the new site and create your forms there

and btw, Joomla 5 is supposed to have a stable release this month, so maybe you start at J5 directly

My main concern is that there will be issues migrating the old forms. We spent quite a bit of money many years ago creating them with some significant calculations, etc. Will the old version 5 Chronoforms still work fine with version 8 if I just install v8 over the top of v5?

I also forgot to mention that we use Chronoconnectivity along with the forms as well. It is also currently back on version 5.

v5 will not work on J4 at all, so you have to use the new versions.

it should be possible to have the same form functionality but as I noted you will need to recreate them

do you have custom PHP or Javascript code in your forms ? are you using JQuery in JS code ?
