Hi,
I am looking at possibly upgrading CF6 so that it becomes compatible with Joomla 4. Like others on this forum, there are numerous upgrade challenges, namely centred around the time it takes to manually reconstruct existing CF6 forms and to recreate them in CF7. I'm baffled that there is some kind of a CF5->CF7 upgrade process, but there isn't any possible CF6->CF7 upgrade or import tool. Based on other posts, it seems that other CF users are having similar issues with this upgrade process.
I am looking to work with a PHP developer who might take on the task of making CF6 compatible with Joomla 4 (and possibly beyond to J5). Is anyone keen to work on this project with me? The project would primarily need to respect Max's copyright and terms. Any customized "CF6 for Joomla 4" component should only work where the website is already licenced with Chronengine for CF6. So please note there is no plan or mission here to bypass any of Max's potential business.
I understand Max is not available, but I am assuming he has no plans to make CF6 compatible with J4. Bob/Greyhead would be an ideal choice if he was available and interested in developing this customized CF6 component?! Bob?
Otherwise my aim would be to use UpWork and to work with a suitable developer through that platform.
Anyway, is anyone interested in helping with the crowdfunding and to gain access to the re-developed component? To a lesser extent I'd also be keen on"CCV6 for Joomla 4", but the initial work would definitely be focused on "CFV6 for Joomla 4". If you back the project then you gain access to the redeveloped component, so hopefully this can gather lots of interest and those that are struggling with CF7 can benefit from this.
Maybe it's me... but I think CF7 is impossible to work with, and I've used CF since V3 back in 2010😟

Hi
I don't think that it's impossible to work with CF7. I have rewriting all my forms from CF6 to CF7, some very complex, and all are working.
It's more easy to fix some bugs of CF7 that make CF6/CC6 compatible with Joomla 4.

Fair enough... maybe not "impossible" to work with, but definitely impossible to fit into our schedule! And I am thinking down the line about redoing it all again from CF7 to CF8, if such an eventuality occured.
I get that with practice and development time you will be able to manually migrate CF6 to CF7, in many situations. However, we have LOTS of complex forms and the thoughts of rebuilding them form by form, element by element is just painstaking.
