V6 Fields missing in Design View

Chas_L 16 Jan, 2022
Hi. Have been using V6 on Joomla V3.xx for many years and recently wanted to update / create a new form in preparation for upgrading to V7.

Just opened an old test form, gone into design view and all the fields, normally listed under Core Fields or Core Arra are missing, just little boxes in the array list. Nothing in More/Default either.

I tried reinstalling V6 but the problem remains.

Installed V7 and discovered there is no import option (yet?) for importing V6 forms into V7, so need to get V6 working properly again as I don't really want to rebild the form in V7 just yet.

Form works OK on site, so it's just the building/modification of an older V6 form I need to fix.

Any ideas / suggestions most welcome.

Many thanks,
Chas

Hi Chas,

Have you upgraded Joomla or PHP recently? - the errors could arise from that kind of change. If you turn on site debugging temporarily do you see any error messages?

Hi Bob,
Running Joomla 3.10.0 on PHP 7.4.27 It was working OK when I last used it, early last year and that was on Joomla 3.8.xx and PHP 7.1, so yes, both have been upgraded but I've not had to do any edits on v6 Chronoforms until now, they have been working perfectly, still do.

I enabled dbug as suggested, went to the v6 form, edit, and then to setup where the fields lists are empty. The box they're normally in still scrolls down the page so the core functionality appears OK.

Here are a few of the 506 errors seen in the log.

Hope this helps.

If there is full documentation for v7 then as that works, I can do my own in that, I just can't find it.

Hi Chas,

None of those look sa if they are directly linked to ChronoForms, and Deprecated messages usually don't affect performance as the old code still works until a future upgrade.

If you like PM me an Admin login and the site and form name and I'll take a quick look.
