Broken Links with Apache Mod Rewrite And SEF url enabled

luga 01 Sep, 2008
Hey everyone,
I seem to be having a problem where I have SEF Url enabled as well as apache_mod_rewrite. Whenever the user visits a page with chrono forms component all the links to the rest of the site are broken. They usually show as http://www.site.c o m/sef-string-goes-here but on the chrono forms page they show as site. c o m/index.php/sef-string-goes-here. I've been trying for a while to fix this by myself with no luck. Wondering if anyone has come across this issue. Please let me know.

Hi luga,

is this the component page or a content page with mambot ? for latest mambot please check this post :
http://www.chronoengine.com/forums/index.php?option=com_chronoforums&cont=posts&f=2&t=10908&p=12351&hilit=laurel+module#p12351

if its the component page then maybe its a joomla issue with link menu items ? try to make the menu item for Chronoforms of type "Chronoforms" and after you are inside the menu item, add at the right side the form name, the result should be formname.html when you view your website!

Cheers

Max

P.S. I will be offline for sometime!

It's the component page. Now the error has stopped happening (i have made no changes thus far) but the link is still malformed with the index.php inserted in the sef segments. Anyhow, since it's working as is with this minor aesthetic bug I'll just continue with it as it is. Thanks for your help! and if you come across a fix for this let me know. thanks

Hi luga,

please try my suggestion here:

I'm having this same problem. Is there a solution for this. I've been looking at it for about an hour, just trying to find the post that referenced this same issue, in which they were told to download V3.-0 beta 2.1 and extract a file and upload it to the server. I hit reply..my session timed out...and I've spent the last hour trying to find that post using the same keywords as before, but I can't find it. It's not showing in my browsers history tab eiter. soo..I also remember this post had a reference to magic quotes (I've tried it both on and off)... I've finally given up.

Is there a solution to this problem, other than

ry to make the menu item for Chronoforms of type "Chronoforms" and after you are inside the menu item, add at the right side the form name, the result should be formname.html when you view your website!

My form url is NOT formname.html .. but rather domain.com/joomla-menu-alias . Any other menu item AFTER clicking the Chronoforms results in a request for index.php/joomla-menu-alias.
Any ideas on this would be appreciated.

Hi mags,

the solution is very simple, since V3.0 stable is out, all you need is to upgrade, go to the downloads page to find the V3.0 stable and instructions on how to upgrade from V3.0 BETA!🙂

That worked great... except I have the Professional Joomla Work link again. Is the download not the licensed version or ????
Thanks for you help Max.
Max_admin 21 Sep, 2008
Hi mags, downloads on the site here are not licensed of course, you can contact me with the license details from the contact us page above and I will email you the latest V3.0 stable patches if you don't have them already.

Just one last comment... do you have a mailing list...or a thread that allows 'subscriptions'... but not 'posts'.... to keep those who have purchased 'in the loop' on new versions?
Max_admin 21 Sep, 2008
Hi mags, unfortunately not yet, however I'm working on a solution for this one, the solution will also allow members area for all purchased downloads available and will mark users who got licenses on the forums as well, it will be very cool and helpful, just needs sometime to finish, keep checking with us!🙂

Regards

Max

P.S: V3.0 stable is stable, it should stand well unless you want more features which will come in a new release.

***SOLVED: Deleted link and put it in again, now it works.

Hi all,

I also have a problem with SEF, mod_rewrite activated and Chronoforms 3.0 in J1.5. SEF works fine for all links, but not for Chronoforms. With SEF / rewrite deactivated the link is:
/joomla/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&Itemid=93

With SEF / mod_rewrite activated it turns to this, which is not SEF and also not working.:
/joomla/index.php?Itemid=93&option=

The Menulink is of Type Chrono Contact and I also put in the Form name.

Any ideas on this?

Best regards,
Rudolf
