Are there conflicts with Chrome and Chronoforms?

Alistair 12 Dec, 2020
I noticed that on Google Chrome the form is not always sent and some radio buttons do not stay clicked. Thanks.

Definitely an issue with Chrome, the form simply refreshes once sent and the thank you message doesn't appear, like it happens on other browsers. Anyone can check this?

your form has a single page ? if yes then that's the problem!

does the problem occur when you test the form in the admin area ? your form is called in a menu item or inside an article ?

Hi, yes of course the form has a single page, why would that matter? In most cases, the shorter a form is the better, forms are mundane tasks and the less you have to fill in the more chances you have people will use them.

My form is called in a menu not inside an article.

no, Chronoforms requires one page to display the fields and another page to do the processing tasks, which may include a message or a redirect, so if your form has one page only then some features will not work correctly!

For a simple 3-field form then what Chronoforms advises, there is already a sort of redirect to the "Thank you message" page, isn't that enough?

I followed this Redirect video but still won't work, just refreshes the page https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fstU_9uxPj4&list=PLNdPw6Bog3zcuSKs7NGNi8QPtfj5IsxQA&index=5. This in Chrome.

With Firefox for instance the redirect works fine, but then it jumps the "Thank you" message, which is idiotic 🙄

What one has to do to make this work on all browsers?

Could you please post a screenshot of your form "Pages" area here ?

Hi, link sent via private message as I'm not too keen on scattering links where I shouldn't, hope that's okay.

2 problems:

Please remove the space in your form alias, does that help ?

2nd, your page has a javascript issue, which is breaking the dropdown, but that should not cause the problem you reported here!

Hello, no removing the space does not change anything. Is there a way to understand what's causing this? To leave a message to Chrome users looks quite unprofessional, it's like telling to the world "this form is buggy".
Max_admin 22 Dec, 2020
Please send me a backup file of the form using the "Contact" page and I will check it here.

Also, does the form work fine on Chrome when you test it in the admin area ?

So everything looks fine yet Chronoforms doesn't work properly. Has Chronoforms7 been tested thouroughly before being released I wonder. Is there a refund policy in place if the form doesn't work?

Answer
Hi Alistair,

As I noted in a PM, your page has a javascript error, that may cause different issues and is browser dependent, please use the link I sent to test the form, does it work fine ? what about the "Admin" preview link in the admin area, does the form work fine there when you test it ?

For me the form works fine when tested on Chrome when I use the link I sent you, which is the form page without any extra stuff!

your page has a javascript issue, which is breaking the dropdown, but that should not cause the problem you reported here!

But you earlier said that the Javascript issue can't be the culprit, now that you can't see what can be wrong the Javascript becomes the culprit?

I asked you how to test it in the back-end, as I don't understand and there is no manual for CH7, if you mean by clicking "preview" and sending the form then no it doesn't work in the test admin.

Does this not have a debug that can tell you what's actually wrong? Why Chronoforms 6 was working fine?

what about the link I sent in the PM ? does it work on Chrome or not for you ? it works fine here!

Hi, I have disabled a cookie plugin I had installed and it seems to be working fine now, maybe it's early days to say that that was the culprit 100% but so far so good.
