Captcha Error Message Occurring Regardless of Actual Error

yoni 14 Aug, 2008
Hey all,

I am using the latest release. Under the Anti-Spam tab, there is a field for "Error Message"...The description says that this is what will appear when the CAPTCHA is entered incorrectly...However, this error message appears at the top whenever any input error is committed. ...i.e. even if you enter CAPTCHA correctly, but you, lets say, violate another validation check such as putting numbers in a text only field...the CAPTCHA error message is displayed.

Hopefully, this is not my problem, only.

Also, the error message that occurs when you submit forms too closely together (the submissions limit field in the general tab) is not written in proper english...which file is this language located in?

Thank you for the great extension,

Hi yoni,

regarding the language, I will fix this, we don't have separate language files but the code with text is at admin.chronocontact.html.php

regarding the captcha error, you mean this happens when you use server side validation also ? because using JS validation the form will not submit and the top error will not appear, please clarify!

Cheers

you know I'm not sure what happened. I can't recreate the error for some reason. I thought it was a JS validation error...but now the form is not submitting with a JS error, so it is no longer happening...not sure what I did. But thanks!

I guess you can delete this one.

Actually! I think I figured out what I did.

I am using the mambot. Therefore, if I get a CAPTCHA error, I am not redirected to the original page, I am redirected to a page containing only the form (which isn't optimal for me, but its ok). On the new page, the JS validation does not seem to work until after you submit. And this is where the CAPTCHA error stays (or is possibly repopulated) at the top of the screen, even if it is only a JS error. Hope that makes sense.

Hi yoni,

with the new V3.0 we should add a new mambot but this was not done yet, I will try to get the new mambot out soon, V3.0 BETA 2 is just out now, I suggest you upgrade to it unless you have no problems with BETA 1, but still BETA 2 comes with many issues fixed and more features!

Cheers
