Can't seem to get it to work

Installed ChronoConnect on 1.5.5. Compnents | Chrono Connectivity | Connections Manager | Add produces a display that just shows the 3 tabs (General, Legend, Admin Config) with General selected. Unfortunately nothing, i.e. no fields, are showing. (Sometimes they will flash up when the page is first displayed.) No fields when Legend tab selected. Fields are displayed on the Admin Config tab.

so you mean that all tabs are blanl except the Admin config tab ? when you select some othe rtab, does the page layout gets missed or so ? do you have GZip compression enabled at the joomla global config ?

I have a default Joomla install on XAMPP, Vista 32. Unfortunately I won't be able to actually check the GZip compression setting for about 8 hrs.

When you click on New the three tabs appear. Occasionally I will see a form flash up and then disappear - tough to say but it appears to be the General tab fields. Regardless, if one clicks on the Legend tab, nothing appears to happen. However, if one clicks on the Admin Config tab that form appears. Clicking Save or Cancel does nothing, but it is possible to navigate elsewhere.

I just installed ChronoConnectivity on XAMPP on XP without any problem - I tested with GZip on and off. Doesn't exaclty help your problem but may narrow down the field a little.

Ok, please check the Gzip and if it didn't work still, try to reinstall ? if it didn't work again then let us know here🙂

Gzip was off. I set it on. Then uninstalled and reinstalled the package. Same behavior, no joy.

Can you see any type of JAVASCRIPT errors ?

No errors seen. Are they logged anywhere?

in IE they appear on the bottom left and in FF with Firebug they appear on bottom right as a red icon!

Using IE 7. I don't see an error, just the regular messages when a page loads. But they do flash by fairly quickly.

Hi, as long as it doesn't write "error on page" then its fine, can you try tp patch administrator/components/com_chronoconnectivity/admin.chronoconnectivity.html.php with the one attached ?

No joy I'm afraid. I installed the patch. Same behavior. By the way after clicking New clicking Cancel, Save or Apply does nothing.

well, can you pm me some temp access to see this, definitely there is something wrong with the page HTML or JS

Unfortunately outside access to the machine it's on is not possible.

I'm sorry but I can't help then, the issues you said means that there is either a JS error on page or HTML problem and the FORM tag doesnt exist and so the page will not save/apply..etc, which browser do you have ? can you try with FireFox 3 ?

Works in Firefox 3.0.1

Does not work on MS Internet Explorer v 7.0.6001.1800

Don't know it this helps you isolate the problem. IE 7 does not report any errors.

It also happend with me. I couldn't make ChronoConnectivity work with IE7, but I was abble to use it with FF3.
