Issues with iPads and ChronoForms v6

We have a couple very large v6 forms on a site and when attempting to access these v6 forms via an iPad (Safari or Chrome browser) the forms are non-responsive. Scrolling through these forms is a real challenge and we are unable to work the form altogether (checkboxs, data entry boxes, etc.). One of the forms in question is;

We are not having the same problem with the Android tablets. Your assistance regarding this matter would be most welcomed. Thank you!

Hi Mike,

What exactly is the problem you are seeing? I checked on my iPad and iPhone and the forms are usable in Chrome and Safari (though the first section is tricky to read and use - the layout could be made simpler).

PS I suspect that the majority of your questions might need radio buttons rather than checkbox groups? You could also free up some space by putting the labels above rather than at the side.

Bob,

Thanks for posting back and offering your suggestions. The problem I, the client and several of their clients are having is, the forms seems to load properly however when you attempt to check a box or scroll through the form it locks up and you have to wait before using the form. I've tested this form on my iPad (Safari & Chrome) and it confirmed what the client, their clients were saying. Now, I will mention that neither my, the client or their clients iPads are not the most current releases (neither is my Android tablet). I do not have direct access to an iPhone for testing but that is not the primary issue at hand. Getting these forms (regardless of size or complexity) to be workable on all devices across all platforms is our task.

Hi Mike,

I dug out my wife's old iPad mini and can see the problem on that - though I am no closer to knowing what is causing it. I did see that there are some large images on the page and they might possibly cause a problem to download. Have you tried it without the template to see if that changes anything (add ?tmpl=component to the URL).

I also see that I was wrong about the radio buttons - they are radio buttons but formatted with squarish icons so they look more like check-boxes.

My main suggestion arises from the comment that the form takes a long time to complete and can't be saved. I'd probably make this a multi-page form with a separate page for each distinct block of questions. You could also save the form between pages enabling uses to 'take a break' and continue - though to do this you need some way of identifying the record they are completing. This might be by email, or by email plus a unique record ID if they are likely to complete the form more than once.
