{chronoforms6}my_form_name{/chronoforms6} doesn't work after Chronoforms update

artsapiens 16 Mar, 2019
Recently updated Chronoforms 6 to latest version, and plugin doesn't render forms anymore, it shows just {chronoforms6}form-alias{/chronoforms6} instead.

Any ideas?

Ok, just some more details, if this may help. Version 6.0.21 is working well. Updating to 6.0.26 breaks something, so that plugin stops working. Paid (and verified) version.

Any ideas?

It looks like you have the shortcode syntax inside another extension, not a Joomla article, that was limited in the latest update, please go to Plugins > ChronoEngine_gcore2 and add your component name under the "Advanced" area, the component name should be in this format:
com_component

It kinda semi-solves the problem. Now forms appear, but next problem surfaces - I have two forms on one page, both opens in modal window on buttons press (one button for each form). And after update submitting one form doesn't render "thank you" message, but second form's open button right in modal window..

really weird %(

and by the way, form doesn't submit - data is not sent, neither saved
healyhatman 19 Mar, 2019
Do they have different form IDs?
healyhatman 19 Mar, 2019
No, different form ids. In the display form action.
artsapiens 19 Mar, 2019
This one? (check screenshot) didn't touch it, both set to "auto"
healyhatman 19 Mar, 2019
Yeah, that. On the page where you have the two forms showing, right click -> inspect and look at the form IDs and check if they're the same.

Please try to set different form id in both forms, if this does not work then please send me a message using the contact page to get a patch file for testing!

Hi,

I tested 2 modal forms on the same page with the latest release and they work fine, they both have buttons to open the modal, please try that and let me know!

I've updated to 6.0.27 just now and I'm back to where I started - {chronoforms6}my-form-name{/chronoforms6} is not rendered as supposed just like in my initial post (despite I've added "com_component" to plugin's advanced fields). Have to restore backup now
Max_admin 31 Mar, 2019
it works here, I tested with the new "Modal area" and "Form area", your form fields should be inside a "Form area" and the form area should be inside a "Modal area", the trigger button should be outside both areas, I can send you demo forms if you want to test.

How the inner construction of form is supposed to affect the plugin work at all? I'm telling you that form is NOT rendered at all, and with new version the solution you offered doesn't work anymore. I see {chronoforms6} tag instead of form.
Max_admin 15 Apr, 2019
Hi artsapiens,

if the form shortcode is not rendered then there is a problem with the plugin config, the {chronoforms6} shortcode is used in an article content or another place ?

It's used in SP Page Builder

Answer
A new change has limited the chronoengine system plugin to parse the shortcode in articled only, you need to go under Plugins > system > chronoengine_gcore2 and add this to the components area:
com_sppagebuilder
I think that's the correct component name!

Thanks, yes, it does the trick. Now I'm experiencing troubles with pop-up calendar in those modal forms, but I suspect, I should ask questions about this in separate post.

Hi, I have the same issue, that i cant't use the shortcode in extension "Event Booking". When I use the shortcode in article, it works fine. How can I make it working in event description of "Event Booking"? thank you in advance for your help.
GreyHead 23 Mar, 2020
Hi selma123,

Please check with Event Booking if they support plug-in codes.
