Email not being sent

Endlessline 31 Jul, 2008
I don't know if this is a bug or not, most likely is misconfig or even more likely user error...I guess those are the same thing. Anyway, I've attached some screen shots to this post. I ran the debug and it says that "Email was not sent" I remember reading on here that when it says that it means the email never really made it out of Joomla so I'm hoping somebody eyes something in my configuration. Any help is greatly appreciated, the client is getting testy 😶 I'm using Chronoforms 2.3.9 and Joomla 1.0.15

Hi,

Remove everything in the Special fields tab, in the general tab, remove the 2 Reply to Entries, assure that the From email is a real email and is different than the receiver email address, and that the from name is some name, I suggest making it "admin" to test first!

Cheers

Max,

Thanks for your reply, I'm still not getting the email though. Very strange, I have another client on the same host (Joomla 1.5/newest CF) and it emails just fine. Is there another place I may have goofed up?

Hi Endlessline,

In the debug you can see that there is no From Name or Email - it just says From: []

In the Special Fields tab you have entries in the Email Field name and the From Email Field name boxes that are blurred out - so I assume that these are email addresses - you can only put Field Names in these boxes.

Bob

PS Notice the red labels saying 'must be a filed name'

Hi Nick,

at the first photo, can you see the email properties area on the right ? change "Enabled?" to YES then click Apply then save the form or apply🙂

Cheers

I have been searching here to find an answer but to no avail. I'm sorry to trouble you all but I'm having a similar problem and would love to be able to switch my "No" to a "Yes" but I have a problem. Where it says Enabled? My answer choice is set to NO and is grayed out. I've attached a file showing this.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

Hi suancho,

You have to have a full set of email fields before you can enable it. I'm not sure of the full list but I think To, Subject, From Name & From Email should have that switch working.

What's the answer for me?

I switched from the PHP Mail Function to 'Sendmail'

The path to sendmail is correct.

When I put my form in debug mode, I get all legit fields (email addresses are good).

The last line of debug info tells me the email was sent.

No email shows up in my inbox.

maybe it goes to your SPAM filter, can I see a screenshot of your setup emails tab ?
