Chronoforms6 backend editing doesn't open

I have built a form in Joomla! 3.9 using Chronoforms v6.

I have also bought an activation key and have activated the form.

It consist of a partitions area with 200 parts. About 100 parts are filled up with a header and a radioos group of 3 choices.

The forward and backward buttons are in the footer section.

It works all fine at the front end and I have been editing it and adding more stuff to it.

However when I try to open from the back end to edit the form there is a huge loading time (I guess since the form is quite big, it is normal) but then it goes into as fully white window, everything disappears and nothing loads.

Refresh just give me the same.

Back button in the browser gives me back the backend of the Chronoforms6 and Joomla!.

I can not edit the form.

I can start creating other forms, open the demos and do all that but can not open this particular form.

It has happened once, and after several tries I managed to get into editing. But not anymore.

I deleted cash of both Chronoforms and Joomla. Also ddeleted the cash of the Browser (Chrome). Did not help.

Can someone please help out?

Hi gabor.me,

I suspect that you may need to increase your PHP max_execution_time setting.

If you set Site Error Reporting to Developer or Maximum temporarily you should see a more helpful error message.

Hi Bob,

Thanks. I have looked into what you say, but no joy,

The max execution time is set at my hosting 50 seconds.

I get the white screen in about 30 seconds.

I have turned on error reporting, debug systems in Joomla!, error reporting to Development mode in Joomla.

I get the debug console on the bottom of all the pages.

However, when I try to open my form for editing in the backend, I get a completely white screen with no error message, no debug console and nothing.

Could you please help me what I can do?

Again, front end works fine, but I can not complete the form and now I can't even change it so it would work, can't go into editing.

Are there any errors in javascript console, out of interest? Anything in your php logs (assuming you've tuned PHP loggin on on your server) ?

Hi Gabor,

You shouldn't normally get a white screen if you have Site Error Reporting set to Maximum or Developer - you get a white screen with a message.

Hi,

Could you please send me a form backup file using the "Contact" page so I can test this ?

Hi Bob,

Yes, I'm aware that I shouldn't get this white page. I'm getting it anyway. ?

If you're absolutely sure error reporting is on, go to your error.php file in your template's folder.

Temporarily add
renderBacktrace();
to the file.

Hi,

This is solved or not ? for large forms its recommended to use the new "stored block" feature, build your form into parts in the blocks manager then call them in the form itself using the "stored block".

Your blocks can be called in any form later!

Hi Max!

It is not solved yet.

I followed your advice of building in blocks.

Putting together a 21 part partition area.

I run into a problem, whereby Chronoforms would not save certain things I put in.
I put into each partition a header which works fine.
When I put a radio box to the first partition and save the block, the radio box disappears. Quite annoying.

Do you know why could that be? Any limitations on the block? Or on the partition area?

The partitions area is in a block or in the form ?

It is in the block.
Certain things do not get saved. Disappears after I save.

so about how many fields you have in that block ?

I have 2 fields per partition area, one header and one one three option radio group. In 21 partition. All together 42 items.

Please check the Joomla > system information > max_input_vars setting in PHP config, what value do you have ?

Maximum Input Variables 5000

does increasing this number solve the problem ?

The next update should help with this issue without having to change the server setting!
