Textarea maxlength not working

hefesto 20 Jun, 2018
Hi folksI'm trying to limit the chars that can be entered in a textarea in CF6. I thought it was enough with just setting "maxlength" attribute under "validation" tab in the textarea field settings, but apparently that's not enough. What am I missing?

Thanks!

To be more precise, I want that the textarea will not accept more chars to be entered once the value specified in maxlength has been reached. I've noticed that validation is working, because if I enter more than those chars, I'll get a warning. But for some reason I thought that simply entering a value in "maxlength" Chronoforms would do its magic and stop accepting chars beyond that number... maybe I'm completely wrong and it's still necessary to add some javascript for that as it was needed in CF5?

Thanks again!

Ok, just figured it out. In case someone gets here lookig for the same, you just need to set:

maxlength:100

under Advanced>Extra attributes (change 100 with the max number of chars you want to allow).
