Who can and wants to help me to build a simple point system

dhuizinga1 17 Mar, 2018
Hi there,

I'm not verry good in Chronoforms and Chronoconectivity. Chronforms the basics is all what i know... But a tennisclubs who runs a competition asked me if i would have to build a website in joomla..

What i'm looking for is that display a list of 30 clubs arranged in several poules..
per example 6 poules from A till F.

Besides the teams plays in one evening 1 men double, 1 women double and 2 mix games.
For each game a team win earns they one point. So a team can win a with 4-0

in the whole wintercompetition a team plays to all teams in their poule.
the points of each match must then be added up.

the team with the most points then comes to the top and the team with the least number of points below

A contact person from each team will enter the results themselves after each match via a form on the site

I know it is a decent list of wishes. But I can not manage it myself, unfortunately, and I need the help of someone who can help me with this or want to help me. I would greatly appreciate this ...

Who can and wants to help me?

Hi dhuizinga1,

Did you design the database table to store the results ? do you have a specific form flow ? these 2 will control how the app is built.

Hi dhuizinga1,

So this must be done first, you need to have a table design and an idea of how the system will work, by this I mean the number of forms/pages, and which fields..etc

Hi Max,

Did I thank you already for the effort and advice for so far? If not than I want it to do it by now ;-)

Sorry for the late response but it's a crazy period at work. So I can't write you an anser earlier.

Meanwhile I have made three tables and (chrono)forms. First table is to add the sportclub info (swc_chronoforms_data_clubs (pic1))

The second table (swc_chronoforms_data_teams (pic2)) is the team info and which poule they play.
In this table can i add the team info and by which sportclub they belong. I think the field 'club' is dropdown from the 1st table (or is this to dificult).

The third table (swc_chronoforms_data_schema (pic3)) I like to store the games. In this table I must select a Team A and a Team B (dropdown from table 2?) the date and time. When the matches were played I like to edit this entry with the results of 4 games. One men double, one women double and two mix double. For each match a team won they earn one point. I like to have a total score of the two teams. But thats an result out of the match score. P.E. it could be 4-0, 3-1, 2-2, 1-3 or 0-4.

This is the global idea and tabls.. So what can I do more to let it works?

I hope that you can help me further with this..
and offcourse only if you like it to do.

Many thanx in advance,
Dirk

Hi Admin,

Finally i've got the basic list with sportclubs. With the help from Bob and you and trying over and overs i did make the basic.. I can add, edit and delete records to an basic list of sportclubs.... now i want to make a second form with the teams... These teams corresponding to the sportclubs. So i want i my second form a dropdown who gets the values (sportclubs) from the 1st tabel. A tsportclub can have more teams... but i dont know how to start....

Do you have sugestions?

Best regards
Dirk
