Hello,
I have used the example dynamic dropdown form, but when I try and add another dropdown dependent on the second options it does not seem to work.
I have attached screenshots of my form setup and hope you can help show me where I have gone wrong.
Also is it possible to have text and an image 'appear' in a div on the page once the third option is chosen?
Thanks
Lee
Hi Lee,
There is a bug in the latest update which prevents events of reloaded elements from working, I understand that you need to setup a reload event for an already reloaded dropdown, correct ? if this is the case then a patch will be needed which I'm going to send to you by email.
Also is it possible to have text and an image 'appear' in a div on the page once the third option is chosen?
You can reload anything, but since the div is a custom element, you will need to point the 3rd dropdown reload event to the div id #div_id and the div itself must have a data-reloadurl attribute with the url of the form event which is going to return the output.

Max,
Thanks for the reply and the patch file. I've uploaded to the folder and tried my form again but to no avail.
Can I send you login details securely for you to take a look and let me know what I have done wrong?
Thanks again
Lee
Max,
Do you have any update? It still does not seem to function correctly even with the updated file.
Thanks
Lee
Hi Lee,
Apologizes for the late reply!
You had 2 fields reloading using the same event, this was the problem, I have created a 2nd event for the 2nd field and now it works perfectly!

Max,
Thanks so much thats great I've now got the dropdowns working, I just need to figure out how to reference a specific article once the final selection is made.
Would this be done by loading an article ID into a DIV?
Could you please give me an example?
Thanks again
Lee
Hi Lee,
Reloading a div is not straight forward since divs (areas) do not have a reload event setting attached to them, you need to add the div code manually inside HTML element and add an attribute named data-reloadurl="url to reload event here" then you can target the div in the 3rd dropdown field events

Dear Max and/or Lee,
I am having the same problem, trying to create the 3rd drop-down, while depending on selection of 2nd. Reading from above text,
1) Requiring a patch, please assist on how I could get the patch;
2) Not sure if there is any setting that I have missed out?
Note: I have got the first 1-2 drop down to work correctly, initially, I thought it should be quite straight forward, but the moment I had added the 3rd drop-down, varying of the different settings, weird things happened, such that the 2nd drop-down reprint itself, other instance where the 2nd disappeared leaving 3rd drop-down field blank.
Please assist. Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Alfred
BTW, I am using Chronoform v6.02.
I'm attaching a 3 step dynamic dropdown demo form, you will need to adjust the PHP code in the "drating" page to return the options you need after the 2nd choice.

Dear Max,
This was something that I had waited for in anticipation and excitement, but sorry, when I tried doing a restore on the backup you sent, it came back with "Invalid backup file extension". I have done form transfer from one machine to another before, hence not sure what is the problem here.
Greatly appreciate your assistance.
Dear Max,
The backup sent was only 8.68KB, it was probably corrupted. Kindly do a resend. Thanks.
Best regards,
Alfred
I have no problem here when I try to restore the file attached to the post, what is the name of the file you download ?
