Implementing security on Joomla and implications for CF4,5,6

mapme 16 Sep, 2017
Hi,

We've noticed a lot of bots are targeting our /administrator URL on Joomla, which we believe are potential hack attempts. We are using a Joomla plugin to stop these so that a token must be passed on the URL. However they are persistent requests from numerous IPs over the past week and we want to add in an extra layer of protection.

My initial thought is that a .htaccess and .htpassword pair could work well on the /administrator folder. Do you know if this will impact any Chronoforms? We use CF4 5 and 6 for various applications so can you please let me know if you have any experience of adding in this level of security.

Thanks a lo.
