CC5 Toggle "update failed"

I've used toggle fields with no issues before, but for some reason this time they're not working for me. When I try to toggle, I get the error "Update failed".

I tried changing ALL of the permissions to Public but no luck. I also tried using the "View connection" link instead of accessing it via a menu link or embedded in an article, but still no change.

Does anyone else have suggestions for what I could try?

So I went to grab the link and decided to try it one more time. Today it magically works!

Is there a name yet for the phenomenon where something only works after you ask for help?

It's called 'fluence' - starts to work as soon as you ask for help - but isn't 100% reliable.

Sometimes you can get problems with cached data or saved user session data that clears when you leave the form for some time.
