Grid area column update

SubCon 04 Jul, 2017
If I want to update columns in grid, and those columns already have some fields in them, those fields are just being deleted!! So basically I cannot change column structure after its done the first time. As soon as I click "Update columns" it happens.

Thanks

P.S. Sorry I put the wrong tag on the message, should be "Chronoforms v6", I cannot change it while editing..

Hi SubCon,

Which product are you asking about - the tag and your post say ChronoForms but I think it may be ChronoConnectivity?

Chronoforms v6, I just accidentally put a wrong tag before. I see it changed now.

Hi SubCon,

You need Max to reply to you on CFv6 - please use the Contact Us menu above and link to this thread.

I've sent Contact Us 3 days ago, no reply. Also I fail to see the point, I can see Max replying on this forum too. And you could also ask him to look into it.
Thanks

Hi SubCon,

If you remove a column or change its name then the fields will be deleted, but if the you add one more column then the existing fields should be fine, please test that and let me know.

I merely wanted to add a class to column. Pretty trivial. Adding another column does not solve anything in this matter, unless I have misunderstood what you meant.
Thanks

Hi SubCon,

How to add a class to a column ? the column name is used in the "Class" attribute.

What happens when you click update columns without making any changes ?

Let me be more specific:
1) Just clicking "Update Columns" - no problem.
2) Changing/adding class to container - no problem
3) Adding more classes to columns like say column1 myclass... will delete all. I guess its due to the fact that the name of the column changes to this new text. So you either need another way to set classes on columns or prevent from deleting the contents.

Thanks

Hi SubCon,

Yes, what you are actually doing is that you create a different column by changing its name, I suggest that you do not have more than 1 word for each column name.

Columns need to have different classes mostly for responsive design. Especially when using semantic-ui which you yourself chosen for your system. So 1) there needs to be a way to add/remove classes from columns 2) there no way whats or ever that when doing this or anything else will delete all fields inside. This is a serious bug. Even if you choose not to give the ability to add more classes, the deletion should not happen.
And your suggestion to not to put more that one word is just offensive! This is not a solution and I would not need someone to tell me this as its obvious as it is.
