Hi Max,
Looking ( and comparing) with V4 and V5, the design is not comparable in many ways.
A pity you moved away from V4/V5, where we could choose for "normal"vs "tight", Bootstrap vs Bootstrap3 etc. ( see o.a.TAB STYLES in V5)
I also noticed I can't edit the code, and customise this.
Do you think there will be a new V6 , which has the advantages of V5, including the new features of V6
Pls advise
Rgds
Kees
Hi Kees,
Its only the "tight" layout feature in v4 which is missing or something else ? please list your ideas, you can modify the layout easily with css in v6
Best regards,
Max

Hi Max,
Everything...You say easily.... no way, but if you choose to dedicate CF to experienced users, yes than it would be easily
I'm also a bit confused, because it seems you did not test it in advance with your end users, but just launced it.
I'm happy to find out all the new stuff in V6, but for now I will not use it, it's not very handy, user unfriendly, odd layout both in FE and BE, not workeable on my tablets, also no FAQ or tip/trics etc
I will continue to translate, but no more effort in V6...
Sorry for this..
Best regards
Kees
Hi Kees,
But what could I do exactly to have the end users feedback ? it had to be released anyway, same process of all previous versions!🙂
What is exactly not working on your tablet ?
Best regards,
Max

Hi Max,
I belief the processes are (almost) the same, and in some cases perhaps improved.
An example: In V4 or V5, with a std Textfield, yoy could simply check (v4) or select (v5) the validation params
Now you have to put in "rules"
In both versions you could open the "code" and thus customise it
What bothers me the mosst, is the complete redesign (cosmetic) of V6. Who asked for this?
Feedback end users? I can't see from here who are your best sparring partners? What's Bob's opinion?
On the tablet: Did you installed it in Joomla and open the CF via the administrators end? And how did it look?
Again, I belief in yr skills to improve Chronoforms, but this change is (at least for me) overdone
Strip it, and go back to V5 styling, both in FE as in BE
Best regards
Kees
Hi Kees,
I understand your point of view, but v5 did not reach its level of usability so quickly, it took some time, that's normal, so hopefully v6 will be up to your expectations in the near future, but improvements come with users feedback and your feedback is very appreciated.
Could you please send me a screenshot for the interface from your tablet ?
v6 supports so many validation rules + custom rules, all of them can take parameters, I'm not sure if there will be an easy interface to support this but I will try to improve this.
You can use custom code in your form, if you want to have a copy of the form code to "modify" it then this feature may be added in a future version.

Hi Max,
I tested it on different tablets, o.a A YARVIK AB 10.1, which does not show the BE as it should.
Others (Samsung 10, Huawei 7.0) are okay
I quess the Android version (4.1.1.) was the rootcause.
Reading the comments on this Yarvik stuff....leave it for what is is
But I still have to zoom in on my laptop, any news on this already?
I understand, CSS changes can be made via a Customcode in the "one" section
Is there somewhere a tutorial how to change the layout in the FE
EG:
How to get the Fieldname in line (horizontal) with the input area
How the set another frontsize?
How to change borders/corners
On the rules etc:
Where to find a summary of the validation rules and examples of custom rules?
Or...when to expect info in the FAQ's area, specific for the CF v6
Kind regards
Kees
Hi Kees,
But I still have to zoom in on my laptop, any news on this already?
Working on it.
I understand, CSS changes can be made via a Customcode in the "one" section
You can put your css code inside a CSS block, under Designer > Custom
How to get the Fieldname in line (horizontal) with the input area
Change the container class to "field inline", but the labels widths are not fixed.
How the set another frontsize?
How to change borders/corners
Use a CSS block to adjust the front-size of the class you want.
Where to find a summary of the validation rules and examples of custom rules?
Please post a question about the rule you need and I can answer this here for now.
when to expect info in the FAQ's area, specific for the CF v6
Hopefully soon, still could not have enough time for that.
Best regards,
Max

And that's my main problem/concern...
The majority was happy with the look and feel of V4 and V5, now we have to hire a CSS specialist.
Why changed? Who asked for this??
Hopefully V4 stays is the air for many years....
Hi Kees,
I will try to add more improvements to make interface changes easier.
