Server requirements for Chronoforms

dnigra 19 Apr, 2017
What are the server requirements for Chronoforms V5 and V6? I see an answer to this question from 2009 in this forum, but looking for a more current answer.

I am having trouble getting either CF5 or CF6 installed on a new server, and the sysadmin asked me to find out the specific requirements.

Thanks, dnigra

Hi dnigra,

For v6 you need PHP 5.6, v5 requires php 5.3

Thank you.

What about mysql, postgres, etc? Any limitations/requirements there? Apache?

Thank you again, dnigra

Hi dnigra,

You can only use Chronoforms with mysql because its using the mysql syntax, mariadb is also ok.

Max,

One more question. Does it matter to Chronoform whether Joomla itself is using mysql or postgres?

Hi dnigra,

Of course, Chronoforms is using the same Joomla database, so if Joomla is not on mysql then Chronoforms will not function as expected.
